About Course

Objective: The main objective of this module is to empower apprentices with the skills to conduct comprehensive strengths assessments and identify recovery needs in clients. Apprentices will also be trained in effective information gathering techniques, the importance of summarizing and recording information accurately, and assisting clients in completing screening tools for substance use and mental health symptoms. The module will focus on developing sound judgment in collecting and utilizing the gathered information. It will also cover the importance of assessing clients’ preferred methods of communication, addressing potential language barriers, and recognizing signs of abuse, neglect, or danger to self or others.

Duration: This section will consist of 150 hours, approximately 3.75 weeks of full-time apprenticeship.
